Well after this past Friday I’m one step closer to my goal, earning my Black Belt, from Elite TOMA Martial Arts Academy. I completed my Brown Belt and have moved on to Brown 1. I remember my first few belt tests, watching the higher level belts and thinking, how am I ever going to learn to do that. It’s amazing what we can accomplish when we allow ourselves. Taking things one step at a time you slowly build skill, knowledge, and confidence along the way.
I still have more than a year to go, befor I get to my goal. I need to learn all the requirements for this new belt and one more. After that I go back and begin to relearn everything from the beginning and up again. I’m sure it will be challenging, but I look forward to it. I have enjoyed my training so far and am quite proud of myself and all I have learned over the past few years. None of it happened over night, but I worked hard and got this far, as I continue on I will need to do the same, take small steps, and move forward slowly.
Remember when you want to reach a long term goal, stay focused on what you are doing now, enjoying the learning process, and give yourself the time and attention you need to complete everything . There is no rush and cutting corners to get to the end faster, it cuts down the value of the experience.
Take your time and get the most out of each experience, you get so much more that way.
